koko in 1999 No Overflix. This Out of the Inkwell cartoon features the Fleischer Studios continuing character, Ko-Ko, seeming to draw himself, and to battle with the environment created for him. It speaks to the self-referentiality of early animation, and to the creation of characters who are made to rebel against their makers.
